It had been over a decade since 2013 that I last stepped out of the comfort zone of Southeast Asia. More significantly, this was my very first trip abroad after the long silence of the Covid-19 pandemic and years of social distancing.
In 2023 and continuing into 2024, I found myself on a journey I hadn’t originally planned. The destination wasn't one that had been sitting on my travel wish list for years. It was South Korea.
Today on Nogias.me, I am excited to share this journey with you through my new YouTube playlist: "Korea Art Trip."

An Unexpected Muse: From Paju to Busan
To be honest, Korea was never at the top of my travel itinerary. But sometimes, the most profound inspiration comes from the places you least expect.
My trip was less about typical tourist spots and more about a pilgrimage to creativity. In the Seoul area, I ventured out to Heyri Art Village in Paju, a dedicated community for artists that felt like a dream. A particular highlight was visiting the Kim Jung-gi Museum, where I stood in awe of the master’s incredible draftsmanship.
Traveling down to the coast of Busan, the vibe shifted completely. I found myself wandering through the Busan Museum of Art and the serene Space Lee Ufan, absorbing the silence and power of Dansaekhwa (Korean monochrome painting). From the grand halls of these museums to smaller, hidden gems like the Goeun Museum of Photography and Open Space Bae, every stop added a new layer to my artistic perspective.

A Journey for the "Quiet Artist"
As an artist who has debuted but still creates art quietly, often dreaming of that next solo exhibition, this trip became a pivotal moment for me.
The energy of Korea’s art scene—both the modern boldness and the traditional calmness—acted as a powerful catalyst. It wasn't just sightseeing; it was research. It was a dialogue between me and the works of Korean modern and contemporary artists.

Vlogging the Art World
It is from this specific trip that I found a new direction for my content. I realized I didn't just want to vlog about travel; I wanted to focus specifically on art exhibitions.
My "Korea Art Trip" playlist is the result of that shift. It is a visual diary of my time exploring these galleries, capturing the autumn atmosphere in Seoul and the artistic soul of Busan.
I invite you to watch the full playlist below. Whether you are an art lover, planning a trip to the White Block Art Center, or simply curious about what an artist sees when they travel, I hope these videos bring you some inspiration as well.
