With Affection II, I chose an unconventional perspective, painting the figures solely from behind to strip away the obvious cues of facial expressions. My goal was to capture an affection that is often unspoken—felt rather than seen. I invited the viewer to question the dynamic: is this the steady balance of a mutual, two-way love, or are we witnessing the quiet solitude of a one-way devotion?
